Sergeant Major Robert Jimenez

Sergeant Major Jimenez enlisted in the Marine Corps in September 2004. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California and graduated December, 2004. Upon graduation SgtMaj Jimenez completed Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry (SOI) West, Camp Pendleton, California, and proceeded to Motor Transport Operators School, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. There he earned the MOS of 3531, Motor Vehicle Operator and was promoted to Private First Class.


Upon completion of school, SgtMaj Jimenez reported for duty at the 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Battalion in April 2005. In November 2005, he was promoted to Lance Corporal. While with the 3rd LAR, he deployed in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from April 2006 to November 2006. During that deployment, he was promoted to Corporal and was part of a maneuver element named Tomahawk, where he participated in numerous joint operations. SgtMaj Jimenez again deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from September 2007 to April 2008 as an assistant convoy commander and convoy commander. During his deployment, he was promoted to Sergeant in March 2008. In July 2008, SgtMaj Jimenez received orders to the School of Infantry (SOI) West, Camp Pendleton, California. Upon arrival to the SOI, SgtMaj Jimenez was given the billets of Training Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) and Chief Dispatcher. During his time with SOI SgtMaj Jimenez was the school Color Sergeant, the 52 area Road Master, and the Basic Issue Items NCO.  In January 2011 SgtMaj Jimenez, received orders to Drill Instructor School, Class 2-11. After completion of Drill Instructors School, SgtMaj Jimenez received orders to 2d Battalion, Echo Company. During his tour with Echo Company, SgtMaj Jimenez held the billets of Drill Instructor, Experienced Drill Instructor, and Senior Drill Instructor. After completion of his time with Echo Company, SgtMaj Jimenez was given orders to Headquarters Battalion, Headquarters Company, Martial Arts Section. During his time with the Martial Arts Section, he held the billet of Chief Instructor. In January 2014, SgtMaj Jimenez was promoted to Staff Sergeant and received orders to Truck Company, Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Upon arrival at Truck Company, SgtMaj Jimenez was given the billet of Section Leader for 2d Platoon. During his time with Headquarters Battalion, SgtMaj Jimenez held billets such as Battalion Motorcycle Vice President, Battalion Motorcycle President, Battalion Violence Prevention Officer, Unit Marine Awareness and Prevention Integrated Master Trainer, Platoon Sergeant for 3d Platoon, Truck Company, Headquarters Company Operations Chief, and Company Gunnery Sergeant, and Truck Company Operations Chief. SgtMaj Jimenez participated as a member of the Commanding Generals Inspection team for 1st Marine Division inspecting Individual Issue Gear, Uniforms, and Color Guard. In February 2017, SgtMaj Jimenez received orders to the Force Fitness Readiness Center of Excellence (FFRCE) in Quantico, Virginia.


In April 2017, SgtMaj Jimenez was meritoriously promoted to Gunnery Sergeant. During his time at the FFRCE, SgtMaj Jimenez held the billets of Force Fitness Instructor Trainer, Force Fitness Chief Instructor Trainer, and the Marine Corps Martial Arts Chief Instructor Trainer. SgtMaj Jimenez also participated as a member of the Inspector General of the Marine Corps Inspection Team, inspecting the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Programs, Body Composition Programs, Military Appearance Programs, and the Marine Corps Martial Arts Programs. In January 2020, SgtMaj Jimenez received orders to 3d Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Upon arrival at 3d Battalion, 11th Marines, SgtMaj Jimenez was assigned to Kilo Battery as the Motor Transport Chief and the Headquarters Platoon Platoon Sergeant. In March of 2021, he was promoted to First Sergeant. During his time with 3d Battalion, 11th Marines, SgtMaj Sergeant Jimenez served with K Battery, I Battery, and Headquarter Battery. He deployed in support of Marine Rotational Force, Darwin (MRF-D), in April 2020 and again in March 2022. In December 2022, SgtMaj Jimenez received orders to Weapons and Field Training Battalion. There, he served as the Headquarters and Service Company First Sergeant. In June, he received orders from the 1st Battalion of the 5th Marines. While with 1/5, he served as Headquarters and Service Company and Company B Senior Enlisted Leader and deployed with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. In April 2025, SgtMaj Jimenez received orders to his current command.


SgtMaj Jimenez's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal w/ three gold stars in lieu of fourth award, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/ 2 gold stars in lieu of third award, Combat Action Ribbon and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.


SgtMaj Jimenez is married to Susanah Jimenez.
