Recruits, Company H, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, run after their drill instructors as they begin the Combat Conditioning Exercise Aug. 1 aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. The purpose of the exercise is to have the recruits execute close combat techniques while under stress. Through this, recruits will build confidence knowing that they'll be able to perform.
