Lance Cpl. Toby R. Baker, marksmanship coach, Edson Range, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., helps Recruit Dalton H. Kirksey apply the proper marksmanship fundamentals during Rifle Week at Edson Range, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Oct. 8. The coaches spend one entire week with their recruits making sure they are comfortable with their weapons and they understand the fundamentals of shooting. Today, all males recruited from west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. Hotel Company will graduate Nov. 20.
