Recruits from Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, conduct unarmed takedowns during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program test at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, July 20. Twenty recruits at a time took the test as the instructors evaluated them on hand-to-hand combat techniques and various movements with simulated knives and rifles. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 12.
