A recruit of Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, executes a straight thrust during the Bayonet Assault Course I event at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 10. Recruits were taught different skills during Marine Corps Martial Arts Program classes and learned offensive and defensive techniques used in combat. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate April 22.
