All requests from members of the civilian news or entertainment media* must first be submitted to the Communication Strategy and Operations office at rdsd_pao@usmc.mil

(*print and video reporters, photojournalists, documentarians, authors, producers, bloggers, radio DJs, freelancers, etc.)

This includes requests for base access, interviews with personnel or specific information about Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and the Western Recruiting Region (MCRDSD/WRR).

All base access requests must be coordinated in advance of arrival. While on MCRDSD/WRR, all coordinated media will be escorted by Communication Strategy and Operations staff.

While on MCRDSD, all coordinated media will be escorted by the COMMSTRAT staff. To request information under the Freedom of Information Act, click here. However, media may first attempt to request the information via the COMMSTRAT staff.
