Olivar, Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, is provides security after his squad found signs of a simulated improvised explosive device during the IED lane Crucible event, at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Oct. 14. In July, Olivar arrived at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and became a part of Bravo Company. Following graduation from recruit training, Olivar will move onto the School of Infantry where he will continue to develop his combat skills. He will then attend school to become a motor transportation specialist. While he is active duty, he plans on helping his family and learning as much as he can. Today, all males recruited from west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually.
