Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego temporarily closed Gate 5, located off the Washington Street exit of Interstate 5 and Pacific Highway, in response to a report that required the installation to implement precautionary measures earlier this morning.

All inbound and outbound traffic is being redirected to Gate 4, located off the Old Town Avenue exit of Interstate 5 and Pacific Highway, until further notice. Visitors are asked to avoid Gate 5 to reduce congestion and delays in the affected area.

Base personnel are following established protocols, and the situation is currently being evaluated by the appropriate authorities. Additional updates will be provided once verified information becomes available. 

Depot officials are working to restore normal traffic flow as soon as it is safe to do so.
