MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- TOMORROW, Tuesday April 14, 2026, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego will conduct a full-scale active-shooter training EXERCISE.
All gates will be temporarily closed from 9:00am – 10:00am.
This exercise will simulate a full-scale emergency aboard the base to assess the installation’s emergency response protocols and is part of the Depot’s standard operations and procedures.
The exercise will be conducted during normal working hours.
Local residents may hear emergency mass notifications announced from speakers on the base and may see or hear a range of exercise resources, from emergency response vehicles to military personnel, which allow MCRD personnel to practice for emergencies.
Patrons can expect some degree of interruption to normal operations as security measures are increased, and response agencies are deployed in support of the exercise.
