Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California - U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Francis Leroy Hopkins enlisted in the era of the Montford Point Marines. He served as a drummer and carried his Marine Corps values with him into civilian life. His legacy is carried on through his son and grandsons, namely Staff Sgt.
