Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego - U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Jose Flores, the Recruit Training Regiment drill master, corrects a recruit with Hotel Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, during close order drill at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 23, 2022. Close order drill is an important means by which a recruit develops a high state of discipline, confidence, and respect for authority, teamwork, unit esprit, and instant willingness to obey orders. .
