Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California - LtCol David Becker was born in Austin, TX and is a graduate of Indiana University. Commissioned through the Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) program, he graduated The Basic School (TBS) in May 1994. Following graduation of his MOS school, he received orders to Communications Company, 1st Marine Division in Camp Pendleton, CA. After serving as both the Data Platoon Commander and Radio Platoon Commander for the 1st Marine Division Communications Company, he was promoted to 1stLt and was selected to serve as the Communications Officer (S6) for 2nd Battalion 1st Marines. In June of 2001, Capt Becker transitioned to the USMCR. During his time in the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) he worked as a Technical Manager in AT&T’s Optical Network Management (ONM) group located in Atlanta, GA. After earning his MBA in 2004, he worked for Ernst & Young as a Fortune 500 Consultant. In 2010, Maj Becker executed orders to MARFORCYBERCOM Ft Meade, MD and served as the G34 (Cyber Fires Officer). In 2011, Maj Becker deployed to Afghanistan as a member of the Expeditionary Cyber Support Element Afghanistan (ExCSE-A) as the RC-SW (II MEF FWD) Cyberspace Planner. After returning from deployment, Maj Becker served as the MARFORCYBER Deputy G35 (Future Operations) and MAGTF Support Officer. Education: BS, Indiana University (Accounting); MBA, Georgia State University; EWS / Command & Staff. Personal awards include: Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2), Meritorious Service Medal (3), Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2), Joint Service Achievement Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal.
