Recruits from Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, unlock their sea bags for their initial gear inspection during pick up at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 23. The new recruits conducted the inspection to ensure they had all the required gear and were prepared to begin training. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Lima Company is scheduled to graduate Sept. 15.
