A recruit from Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, maneuvers through a rope obstacle during the Bayonet Assault Course at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 27. Recruits were instructed to move quickly as a fireteam thought the course in order to simulate combat situations. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Lima Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 20.
