Brigadier General William M. Jurney, commanding general, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego/Western Recruiting Region, and Sergeant Major Alex M. Dobson, depot sergeant major, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego/Western Recruiting Region, place a wreath on the grave of Leland D. Crawford, the ninth sergeant major of the Marine Corps, Nov. 10. Marines place wreaths to honor fallen comrades and in celebration of the Marine Corps’ 241st birthday, which is Nov. 10, 1775.
