Brigadier General William M. Jurney, commanding general, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego/Western Recruiting Region, stands for a moment of silence at the grave of Leland D. Crawford, the ninth sergeant major of the Marine Corps, Nov. 10. Jurney took part in a wreath laying ceremony to honor Crawford and celebrate the Marine Corps’ 241st birthday, which is Nov. 10, 1775.
