A drill instructor from Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, stands next to his series commander while he inspects a rifle during the Series Commander’s Inspection at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Sept. 12. The drill instructors also inspect the recruit’s uniforms and test them on the knowledge they have learned at the depot. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Charlie Company is scheduled to graduate Oct. 14.
