Recruits from Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, practice unarmed manipulations during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 23. Recruits worked in pairs to practice the various techniques. One of the purposes of MCMAP is to teach recruits how to defeat the enemy using hand-to-hand combat. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Golf Company is scheduled to graduate Sept. 2.
