Bierman, Commanding General, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego/Western Recruiting Region, after receiving the Legion of Merit (gold star in lieu of second award) during a post and relief ceremony at MCRD San Diego, April 29. Porterfield was relieved by Sgt. Maj. Alex M. Dobson, Sergeant Major of MCRD San Diego/WRR, after serving at the depot since October 2013.
