A drill instructor of Hotel Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, advises a recruit on how to execute a leg sweep during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 2. Earning a tan belt comes after recruits complete the basic stage of MCMAP in recruit training. Marines have the opportunity to obtain higher levels in their Marine Corps careers. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Hotel Company is scheduled to graduate April 8.
