Sgt. Nicholas Desimone, academic instructor, Instructional Training Company, Support Battalion, shows recruits of India Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, how to treat a simulated combat injury during a combat care class at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, May 19. Recruits will have until week 10 of recruit training to review what they learned in the combat care class for a final exam when they will have to assess and treat a combat injury. Today, all males recruited from west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. Company I is scheduled to graduate from recruit training on July 21.
