The M16-A4 Service Rifle is a light-weight, air-cooled, gas-operated, automatic weapon that recruits will use to learn discipline through basic drill movements as well as the fundamentals of marksmanship throughout recruit training. Today, all males recruited west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. India Company is scheduled to graduate from recruit training on July 31.
