Rear Adm. Joseph 'Pepe' Castillo, Commander 11th Coast Guard District, holds the award citation of Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew Garrison, Maritime Enforcement Specialist, Maritime Safety and Security Team San Diego aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego Aug. 6. Garrsion was awarded the Coast Guard Achievment Medal for using cardiopulmonary resuscitaion to save a childs life. Approximately 30 fellow servicemembers attented the ceremony as well as local media.
