Breiter, Platoon 1073, Company D, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, posts security after a simulated improvised explosive device detonated during IED training exercise in the Crucible at Camp Pendleton, CA. Breiter became a squad leader when he was noticed by his drill instructors as a vocal leader. Both Breiter's parents are former Marines and Breiter enlisted to be miltary police, the same military occupational specialty his mother served as.
