A recruit with Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, descends from the Slide for Life obstacle during Confidence Course II at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, April 30. The confidence course challenges recruits to face their fears and overcome them. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego.
