Recruits from Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, float at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 20. The recruits were required to tread water for four minutes to enable them to move on to the next portion of the basic water survival test. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Lima Company is scheduled to graduate April 20.
