Sergeant Major Roshod M. Browning

Sergeant Major Browning assumed his current post as the Battalion Sergeant Major of 1st Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, C.A., on 21 December, 2022. A native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., in October of 2002.

Throughout his career, Sergeant Major Browning has been assigned numerous duties to include: 0622 Microwave Communications, Communications Platoon Sergeant, Radio Supervisor, Communications Chief,  and Communications Platoon Commander; Generals Driver, Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, Chief Drill Instructor, Receiving Drill Instructor, Receiving Senior Drill Instructor, Assistant Marine Officer Instructor, Officer Candidate School Sergeant Instructor, and Officer Candidate School Class Instructor; First Sergeant,  Company K and Headquarters and Service Company, 3d Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.  

He has deployed aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) in support of the Rim of the Pacific Exercise in 2010 with 3d Marine Regiment; deployed in support of Operation Unified Assistance 2005 with 3d Force Service Support Group; deployed with 1st Battalion, 3d Marine Regiment, 3d Marine Division in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; Deployed with 3d Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in support of the South West Border Mission in 2019 and to Bagdad Iraq Embassy Complex in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in 2021.  

Sergeant Major Browning has a Bachelor of Independent Studies in Communications.
